alright so ive had the cold/flu - havent had one in years. my ear is still deaf, but on the mend and now MY BIG TOE!!!!
for those who dont know - the chaddy mac is a beloved physed teacher. much like toby of australian idol, he loves his job and the ability to surf before and after work. surf permitting.
whilst taking the year 7 kids down to gymnastics on Monday afternoon. Chaddy Mac aka "Mr Mac". thought it would be a good idea to sit down and take a rest as the gymnastics instructors took the kids through their routines.
at the back of the gym was a trampoline that was like a swimming lane that some kids were bouncing down into the foam pit at the end. the big fella was just to excited to sit there and began to take off his shoes and make his way over to the trampoline lane. having pushed the kids out of the way and said "ill show you how its done kiddies!" the big mac has procceeded down the trampoline. The gymnast lady has instructed me that i had to keep my arms out in front of me and bounce as high as i can and kick my feet up to my bum.
well, fark me - my first bounce was out of control - being that im a heavey set fellow it seemed the bounce i was receiving from the tramp was pushing the boundaries of gravity. the first bounce led into the second bounce and that was like seeing neil armstrong/ astroboy on speed. by this time i was totally out of control and heading for my last bounce and into the foam pit.
because my second bounce had covered so much distance and broken some long distance record on a trampoline my final bounce was right at the end of the trampoline lane. because i was winding up the windows furiously in the air my last bounce was solely taken by my big left toe. my "big Lefty" took all 110kg and hyper exteneded so it almost touched my shin.
having endured a split second of sheer agony i took off into the foam pit with catastrophic speed and was heading to the back wall instead of the foam pit. luckily i ducked my head and layed out some how and managed to land in the pit.
needless to say the whole gymnastics class including all 23 of my year 7s where in hysterics. i hobbled back to the pommel horse and sat on it red faced and with a damn sore toe.
looks like im out for another week.
